The
Coosa Valley Lodge came into being on August 2nd 2002. We
are a Consolidated
Lodge consisting of
the Sylacauga Lodge 200, the Coosota Lodge 873 and
the
Talladega Springs Lodge 768.
On consolidation we
became Lodge 929. We met as this, using the Sylacauga Lodge
Temple. The
Lodges agreed to build a new Lodge Temple, more central to all 3
previous Lodges. This came to be on January 12th 2009, when
after purchasing land on the Old Sylacauga Highway, and 6
months
of hard work, by both contractors and two Lodge members, the building
of the Temple was completed, and on this night we
held our
first meeting in this new Temple as Coosa Valley
929.
We have in the last couple of
years,
had a great number of new members, including Initiates, Brothers
joining from other Lodges in Alabama and even from other States.
We
are blessed with the standard of
Initiates and most of the work on the grounds of the Lodge and many
projects inside have been taken on by them.
We
look forward to a very great future
in the years to come and know that if the Lodge is left in the hands of
our younger members it will continue for many, many years.
On May 30 2009, we celebrated a very special occasion. We had
the
pleasure and honor of welcoming the Most Worshipful Grand Master of the
State of Alabama, Brother Teddy Grogan Jr. and the whole team of Grand
Lodge Officers to perform the Ceremonial Laying of the Lodge corner
stone and Dedication. The ceremony was witnessed by local
dignatories, including the Mayor of Sylacauga, Hon Sam Wright, and a
most welcome guest, Hon Billy Atkinson, Probate Judge of Talladega
County, along with may wives, families of members and visitors, a total
of 150 guests.
